You can hear three master pianists playing solo recitals: Grigory Sokolov opens the Piano Festival on Saturday with works by Mozart and Schumann. Igor Levit will explore a peak of the keyboard repertoire Wednesday: Bach’s Goldberg Variations. And Rudolf Buchbinder takes to the stage during the concluding weekend. We are giving away three pairs of tickets for his performance. Just take part in our music puzzle question and try your luck!
Rudolf Buchbinder will conclude his recital on 26 November with Robert Schumann’s great C major Fantasy, Op. 17, whose profits were intended to go toward the creation of the Beethoven Monument in Bonn. But the composer originally planned to use another title for this work. What was Schumann’s original title for the Fantasie:
a. Ruins, Trophies, Palms
b. Florestan’s Legacy
c. Leipzig Miscellany
d. To the Distant Beloved
e. Réminiscences de Louis van Beethoven
